Happy Weekend

And so the week has come to a close and I hope you had the best week yet! I finally got the courage to post my first video webisode out into the big wide interwebs. It's not perfect and as my friends say to the first try at something, "it's the first pancake" but I'm happy I did it and am ready to tackle some more projects! Doing something really scary is not something I like to take on for many reasons but once I had, a huge relief swep over me! This got me thinking about a project I'd like to try for a year. I'll share my ideas next week but it involves doing something scary over and over and over again. Yikes! Till then, I'll leave you with this wonderful quote by Eleanor Roosevelt... "Do one thing every day that scares you." Or maybe just one thing this weekend...

Webisode : How to make a placemat using a serger

I'm happy to share with you my first web tutorial! I've shown you how to make a very fun placemat using a serger (also known as an overlock) sewing machine. The whole project took about 20 minutes to do one and it was quite easy for a beginner. Please leave any questions you have in the comment section below and I'll be sure to answer them. Enjoy!

Ombre walls

We are going to be painting the inside of our house soon and I came across this post from Lowes on how to ombre your walls. Gorgeous right! Might have to try this for our bathroom in aqua tones...

Solair Chair :: mid century love!

Doesn't this chair scream summer! Originally designed in 1972, the Solair chair is being manufactured again in Canada from the original company. With so many color options, it will be very hard to only pick one! Let me just go get my cocktail and maybe a Mad Men episode while I think about it...

Motivation Monday :: Audrey Hepburn

“It's that wonderful old-fashioned idea that others come first and you come second. This was the whole ethic by which I was brought up. Others matter more than you do, so 'don't fuss, dear; get on with it'.” ― Audrey Hepburn

Her grace and beauty where only exemplified by the enormous amount of work she did making people laugh with her movies and her work with UNICEF.  She was a muse to many as her style was timeless and best of all she reminded us that "Paris is always a good idea" and Tiffany's is a great place for breakfast. She will always motivate me to get up and make something grand happen and to do it in a little black dress!
